Travertine Gets Rich, Semi-Gloss Finish
Dull, Dirty Travertine
Residential clients in Austin called us, saying they wanted their floor “buffed.” When we arrived on the job site, we saw that their travertine floor looked dull, dirty, and lifeless because of a thick layer of dirt, oils, greasy residue, and cleaning product buildup.
Our Travertine Restoration Process
Our first step was to deep clean and sanitize the travertine to remove the buildup of contaminants. Next, we honed the travertine using a multi-step series of progressively finer grit diamond impregnated pads mounted on our floor machine to remove minor scratches, etch marks and tile surface damage, resulting in a rich, semi-gloss finish. Our final step was to apply an impregnating sealer to protect against water and oil based spills.
The homeowners were very pleased with the results we were able to achieve.
